Storage Providers

Computle does not ask you to migrate your data. Workstations connect to the storage you run today, or Computle provides its own file storage, Computle Files. This page lists the options.

Your workstations sit in a Computle data centre, so your storage is hosted or cached beside them rather than reached over your office line. Your contract, licences and support for the storage platform stay with you.

Panzura is a global file system. Your project files stay on Panzura and every workstation mounts them like a local drive, in whichever data centre it sits. There is one namespace across every Computle site, and the Panzura cache sits in the data centre beside the workstation.

Egnyte stays your system of record. Users connect with the Egnyte desktop app or a mapped drive, permissions follow your existing Egnyte groups, and nothing is migrated or re-linked.

LucidLink streams large files to the workstation. The filespace mounts on the workstation, with its cache on the workstation’s own NVMe storage, and streaming runs over Computle’s network rather than your office broadband.

Existing network shares (SMB/CIFS), including NetApp, connect with the permissions you already have in Active Directory or Entra ID. Shares are mapped by group policy or Intune as they are now, authentication is Kerberos against your directory, and existing NTFS permissions carry across.

Storage that stays at your office or with another provider is reached over a site-to-site VPN terminating on your own firewall, or over a private Layer 1 cross-connect into Computle’s network, with your addressing and routing preserved. See Networking.

Computle Files is Computle’s own file storage, delivered across highly available storage clusters at the site that hosts your workstations. You control where the data is placed and its residency, the access policies, backup policies and retention schedules, and the level of performance and redundancy.

Storage prices are on computle.com/pricing. Computle does not charge for data ingress or egress across VPNs or file-caching systems.
