| Beta | Release candidates, ahead of Stable. | Settings, Preferences, Updates |
To see which version you have, open Settings, About. Windows checks for updates each time it opens and offers a new version on the machine list; every platform can check from About. See Updates for the client and Host Updates for the workstation. Every update is verified before it installs; see Security.
The notes are written by the engineers who made each change and are published exactly as written. They say what works in that version. A release with no notes listed carried changes that are not visible to users.
